@illshowumyrifle59 I have never had a jam or malfunction in over 2k rounds. It’s accurate and soft shooting. It is front heavy as people will tell you but it doesn’t bother me. I find it very controllable because it has a bit of heft to it. The best advice I can give you is try and find one you can rent and try it out. I am very happy with mine.

@armywallace Yeah I realize the 550/551 didn’t have a paddle release. While they made it work with AR mags I would have liked to see the paddle style release come from that rifle as well. I didn’t mean to imply it was an original feature. Glad I could be of some help, thanks for watching!

good video, thanks! fyi they can’t ‘keep’ the paddle style bolt release because the one shown is the one on the original sig 550 design. still very helpful and again, thanks.

@davids97011 I am not sure on the diameter and I don’t have any mics here. It’s sold specifically as the “KNS Push Button Pivot Pin – SIG 556″ though so you can’t really go wrong.

Great video on field stripping the sig 556, what size diameter push pin did you have to use .250 or .315?

  11. hathcocked says:

@wbrock001 I can imagine that eventually it will wear down but after a few thousand rounds mine still looks the same.

  12. wbrock001 says:

Does the rubber behind the charging handle have any issues with wearing out? Thanks!

Great video- Thanks a million for posting it. I was not comfortable detail cleaning it with the data from the cheesey manual included alone. Great job and thanks again!

I just purchased a Sig 556 Swat, and was looking for a video to show how to strip the firearm for cleaning (manual only shows so much…). Thanks for posting this video it was extremely helpful seeing exactly how it is disassembled. Will recommend to other enthusiasts.
